Printed Materials You Need for Your Non-Profit
Your non-profit was created to serve a mission. But, without clients and supporters, it won’t be sustainable. Yes, digital or online marketing is essential to your success these days. However, there is still a place for printed materials to gain and retain clients and donors.
You still receive marketing materials in the mail, right? You probably have a stack of business cards from other companies in your office. Have you ever picked up a card or postcard at a local coffee shop or other location? Printed marketing material is tactile and has greater staying power. Potential clients or donors can hold it in their hands and keep it as a reminder.
Your marketing materials are a reminder of your brand and services. It is important that the look of all of your marketing is consistent throughout all types. This is because you want potential and current customers to see your logo and color scheme and immediately know who you are and what you do. This all starts with a great logo.
Keep your look consistent with brand colors. About three to five colors work best. Also, stick to the same two to three fonts for your text. Finally, always make sure that you put your logo on all your marketing. Using marketing templates is the best way to ensure you have all these things.
Business Cards
Business cards are arguably one of the most important tools in your marketing plan. You can always have them in your wallet or purse for any time you meet a potential supporter or referral partner. You want something simple with all the important information about your business and how to reach you.
Program Brochures
Program brochures are a useful printed marketing asset because you can include more information. They allow you to share your mission, services, and ways to get involved. Include them when reaching out to potential donors or sponsors, drop them off at local businesses, or hand them out at booth events.
One Pager
While the target audience for a program brochure is generally potential clients, it is also helpful to have a well-designed printed piece for potential supporters. With a one-pager, donors can quickly learn about your organization’s mission, how many people (animals etc) you have served, and the need you are addressing.
Flyers
Another way you can catch people’s attention is with flyers. These are helpful if you have a new service or program available. Post flyers around your local town establishments to attract clients who don’t know about your organization yet. Think about the places your potential clients frequently visit. This might be grocery stores, doctor offices, the library, or social service agencies. You want something that is eye-catching with just enough information so that it is not too wordy but gets the message across. A flyer with contact information tags is a great way for the flyer to stay in place but provides a way for people to take your information with them.
